Thank you

On January 30th we had the funeral for Dyanne. Thank you to everyone who helped organize it. And thank you to those who contributed in various ways to make it a memorable day. Dyanne wanted a “fun funeral”. And among all the tears and sorrow, there was also some laughter and smiles. Some pictures from the funeral are attached.

In connection with the funeral, we asked for donations to a friend and fellow lung cancer patient. A total amount of around €19 000 has been received and passed on to a very grateful patient. Thank you to everyone who donated.

As this may be the last blog post, I would like to use this opportunity to also thank all those who have helped us along the way. We have gotten a ton of help from many people over these nearly five years. We have gotten help from friends and family with things like cooking, babysitting and “logistics”. We have also gotten help from many researchers and doctors. Some of them have helped with treatment, others have helped with advice. And then we have gotten a lot of support and advice from other patients and caregivers.

I won’t mention anyone by name. Those who have helped us know who they are. From the bottom of my heart, I say to all of you: Thank you. Thank you for the help you have given us on our lung cancer journey. Your help has meant a lot to us. We will be forever grateful for all the support and assistance you have given us along the way.

Finally, I want to say thank you to Dyanne. My wife. My love. Thank you for the years we got to spend together. You uplifted the lives of many, and none more so than mine. With you, I had the time of my life. Thank you.
